Statement from Michell Dell on Dell Windows 8 tablets

As per Michell Dell (founder and CEO of Dell), Dell is concentrating on Windows 8 OS for tablets after getting disappointed sales of Android tablets. Michael Dell stated that the company is perfectly aligned with Microsoft Windows 8 OS. He also told “Android is certainly another opportunity as well, but that market has not developed to the expectations they would have had.”

Earlier, Michael Dell had told that Windows and Android were the only tablet productions that made sense, and wiped out everything else - like WebOS – on noise from the market. The comment came a little earlier in Dell's annual DellWorld conference, where Apple's CEO Steve Ballmer was speaking to him on this event.

Microsoft's Windows 8 OS will be a part of Dell's operations. Computer manufacturer is right now focusing on a tablet that will be able to support Windows 8 for their future production and growth. Dell is working on it in order to observe customer’s reaction and behavior on this.

Dell Windows 8 tablets will be launched in mid 2012

Dell Windows 8 based tablets could launch in mid or 3rd quarter of upcoming year 2012. The price war on the highly-desired tech-slabs has risen up. There are more competitors at lower price for the same production, like Amazon's Kindle Fire's low price points to around $200, which is said to be concerned for Dell's conclusion to stick with Microsoft's Windows operating system.

Due to such low costs, the big computer industry and computer manufacturers are most likely looking to cut out a new price slab, that shall be somewhere in between expensive Apple ones and cheap Android tablets.

Dell Windows 8 tablets for business edition

Dell is targeting its Windows 8 OS tablets mainly for business users, whereas other computer manufacturers are more likely concentrating on overall consumers. Tablets from big manufacturers like Dell, Samsung and HP, with their classy operating systems, are likely to be in the market in 3rd quarter of 2012.

Note: Manufacturers like Sony, HP and Lenovo are also working on tablets but those shall most probably be powered by Android. On the other hand, Android fanboy HTC is also rumored on producing a Windows 8 tablet.
