HP planning for Windows 8 tablets in the year 2012

After the release of Windows 8 Developer Preview, a number of tablets manufacturing companies are thinking over to switch to Windows 8 OS for their future tablets. HP is not an exception to this. HP is also planning to release Windows 8 tablets in the year 2012.

Hewlett-Packard which is popularly known as HP throughout the world is one of the most popular laptop and PC manufacturing companies like Sony, Lenovo and Dell.

HP has remained in the laptop and desktop market since long time. They are also making tablets but have never used Windows operating system. With the recent release popularity of Windows 8 tablets, HP also planning for releasing Windows 8 OS based tablets during the next year.

HP Windows 8 Tablets - Official announcement from HP

Former eBay chief and newly appointed CEO of HP Meg Whitman made an announcement on 27th October, 2011 about retaining their PC business. In the official announcement, HP did not tell whether tablets, along with desktops and laptops would remain a part of their production.

HP did not make any official announcements on releasing Windows 8 tablets yet. But HP has planned to release Windows 8 tablets as soon as Microsoft launches their new Windows 8 operating system next year. At present HP is using WebOS mobile operating system and it remains in a state of uncertainty now.

According to the new CEO of HP, Whitman, the first Windows 8 tablet from HP would be launched next year. According to her, HP also planned to reduce the number of products and they want to put focus on producing small number of quality computers in future.

Besides mentioning more about working with Window 8, HP CEO is not sure about what products they will be releasing next year. But we can expect to here something about Windows 8 based tablets from HP during their announcement of 4th quarter earnings on 21st Nov, 2011.
