Asus Padfone Specs & features

Asus Padfone is a 4.3-inch amoled touch screen with a Padfone station of 10.1-inch display screen. The padfone debuts Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 8260A Dual-Core 1.5 GHz processor with 1GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage expandable up to 32GB. The device runs on latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwitch operating system.

The device includes two cameras, first 8-MP camera with LED for and CMOS sensor that helps taking better quality pictures and videos and second is front facing VGA camera for video calling.

For connectivity, the device is 3G enabled for high speed data downloading, Bluetooth, GPRS, HTML, GPS, Wi-Fi for wireless internet connection, internet browser, USB & HDMI ports and supports GSM SIM card for making phone calls. With docking Padfone with Padfone Station, 3G connection of Padfone allows users to use two devices with 1 data plane.

Asus Padfone has a 1520mAH Li-ion battery with stand by time up to 373 hours (2G)/up to 440 hours (3G) and talk time backup up to 10 hours 40 minutes (2G)/up to 8 hours 30 minutes (3G). Many other Interesting features like digital compass, stylus, video recorder, adobe flash support, multi-touch input method, document viewer and accelerometer also available with the padfone.

Asus Padfone release and availability

As per Asus Italy, the Padfone will be shipped in its "3-in-1" bundle pack and will be available to customers in markets at the end of June or early July. The "3-in-1" bundle means customers will get the smartphone, tablet and a keyboard dock in the same package. Right now customers will get 16GB model and will be available at TIM. And the 23GB model will be available in mid July but there only Padfone tablet with smartphone only (no keyboard dock) will be available for a retail price of 699€ including VAT.

Padfone monitor

Asus offered a juicy padfone monitor as a special accessory with Padfone smartphone. You can dock the smartphone at the base of the monitor to get full 24-inch monitor display. The Padfone monitor has 1920 x 1200 pixels resolution display that avoids glaring. The Padfone monitor also includes four USB 3.0, HDMI, DVI and VGA ports.
