As a strong opponent to contemporary tablets, Apple added another small sized tablet to its portfolio called iPad Mini that has 7.85-inch display and unique features. This post covers the available specs of Apple iPad Mini and its affect on current market.

With the announcement of new unique featured tablet named iPad Mini, Apple pumped air to new debate on the tablet's size. The word 'Mini' of iPad Mini meant for its smaller size than tablets in current tablet market. Let us have a look over available specification details of Apple iPad Mini tablet:
The iPad Mini boasts of having 7.85 inch screen display and 1024 x 768 of resolution and runs iOS operating system. The machine will have 8GB of flash storage and will be priced around $300 and iPad Mini is expected to be released in 3rd quarter of this year. As per the latest reports from NetEase Apple have 6 million units ready for launch in Q3 2012.

As we know that the Apple already reigns over Android and BlackBerry in respect of its iPad in tablet market. But the Google Nexus 7 from Google with a price tag of $199 and Amazon Kindle Fire 2 that are going to be release soon can be competing rivals of iPad Mini tablet.

And as far as Microsoft concerned, it has also stepped in tablet market with announcing its Surface RT and Pro tablets running its own upcoming Windows 8 operating system. So, this time Apple has a strong opponent in the market. But the difference can be observed in terms of manufacturing control. Since Windows 8 tablets will be made by 3rd party manufacturer, so the Microsoft may not have control in setting the sale prices of the tablets. But Apple iPads are Apple own product and made in its own manufacturing units or by manufacturers completely under control of Apple so, the price decision will be completely in Appple's hand.
